Patient Alerts

Patients using medication for weight loss should beware if:

  • Any advertisement fails to identify the actual physician name
  • An aide, rather than the doctor, sees you on return visits
  • The frequency of visits exceeds 2-4 weeks
  • The doctor doesn't adhere to the standards of The American Society of Bariatric (weight loss) Physicians

Always remember:

  • You must have a physical exam and blood tests
  • A doctor personally must inspect each bottle of pills for accuracy before dispensing

Ask:

  • If the doctor is Board Certified and a member of The American Society of Bariatric (weight loss) Physicians
  • All fees to be disclosed in advance by phone or letter
